We help GNU/Linux

Linux Athena’ is developed to help GNU/Linux in its journey to be the easy, full-featured and best user-friendly operating system along with being a free and open source software. Linux Athena’ was built with an idea to support our community. We commit to contribute to Free & Open Source Software by posting articles, reviews and tutorials about different Linux distros and free software.

You will be surprised to know Linux Athena’ is build totally on free and open source tools. Our website is hosted over Linux and use LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) architecture, which is free and open source. We use WordPress, a free and open-source content management & blogging tool on our site. We used Ubuntu font (an open source font supplied with Ubuntu Linux operating system) to build our logo. We use Linux operating systems (which are of course free) on our computers. We use GIMP (an open source image editor) to manipulate images and VirtualBox (a free virtualization tool) to install various distros to test them.

Here is what we do to help FOSS world:

  • We use and encourage others to use GNU/Linux and other FOSS tools.
  • We are making a knowledge base of Linux distros and apps so that people can choose their apps easily.
  • We review various distros and report back the suggestions/bugs to their developers.
  • We also listen to our user’s comments & queries and report usable suggestions to developers.
  • We write easy tutorials for people who have started using GNU/Linux shortly.
  • We encourage people to contribute to free software community, by providing them our platform and help them to write articles about GNU/Linux and its apps, which will help other people.
  • We also encourage people to contribute GNU/Linux in other ways by telling them, what all they can do to support it.

Disclaimer: This information is targeted about Linux Athena’ team, and not its users. We certainly don’t know what our user’s use, but of course, we encourage them to use free software.
